This is probably the most bitter of the Nothern German Pilsners. The aroma is resiny hops and booming malt leading to a beer with a typical pure white head and just the right amount of carbonation. The taste is of grassy, resiny hops held up well by a very supportive malt base. The label says 'Friesisch Herb' which is 'Fresh, dry' and this is so. The beer is bouncingly fresh, but dry from the high hop rate though still with plenty of mouth feel. It continues through to a refreshing, dry hoppy finish. |
